PS: My only advice to you is this. Write for yourself and share with us what YOU like. When you get the mindset (as I myself have fallen victim to) of wanting to write something epic that everyone will like, you find it less fulfilling and more frustrating. As such, I’ve backed off a bit and decided to just write things that I enjoy, stories and ideas that “tickle my fancy”. I find this far more pleasurable, and to my suprise, most people respond positively to it. IMO it’s not necessarily what you write about that draws people, but HOW you write it. If its something that you feel passionately about, or a scene in your mind that you find lights your fires, you tend to be more descriptive, more focused, just more a part of the writing than if you’re just flailing for an idea you think will go over well.

Had I thought that people would enjoy a story about a milquetoast tauren who’s kidnapped by a randy elf would go over well? Hell no! I was waiting to hear how horrible and contrived it was!
